It is recognized by various immigration authorities, governments of various countries, universities, and institutes as an eligibility criterion

Paper-based IELTS

You'll have to write your answers in either pen or HB-pencils.

Computer Delivered IELTS

CD IELTS is for people who are more accustomed to typing than to writing.

IELTS UK

IELTS for UKVI is an approved Secure English Language Test (SELT) for visa applications to the UK

Academic

The IELTS Academic test is suitable for those wanting to study in an English-speaking environment or university (higher education). You can also take IELTS Academic for professional registration purposes.The test measures if you are ready to begin studying in English. It features vocabulary that is familiar within an academic setting.You can choose whether to take IELTS Academic on paper, on computer or online at home or other suitable location.

General

The IELTS General Training test is suitable for those applying to study below degree level. This includes an English-speaking school or college. It can also be taken for work experience or other employment training. IELTS General Training is also required for migration to Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the UK. The test features everyday English language skills that you will need in social and workplace environments. IELTS General Training is available to take on paper and on computer only.
The four parts of the IELTS test

IELTS test

30 minutes
Listening
The module comprises four sections, with ten questions in each section.It takes 40 minutes: 30 - for testing, plus 10 for transferring the answers to an answer sheet.
60 minutes
Reading
The Reading paper has three sections and texts totalling 2,150-2,750 words. There will be a variety of question types, such as multiple-choice, short-answer questions, identifying information, identifying writer's views, labelling diagrams, completing a summary using words taken from the text and matching information/headings/features in the text/sentence endings.
60 minutes
Writing
The Writing paper has two tasks which must both be completed. In task 1 test takers write at least 150 words in about 20 minutes. In task 2 test takers write at least 250 words in about 40 minutes. Test takers will be penalised if their answer is too short or does not relate to the topic.

Speaking
The speaking test is a face-to-face interview between the test taker and an examine
